Just moving to the slopes of Mt Warrenheip located in Victoria, Australia. It is a beautiful scoria volcanic cone, 9 km from Ballarat CBD.
It was already late when I quickly garbed my morning breakfast from cycle cafe near Ballarat station. Not my regular shot of chai latte, but being in Ballarat gave me the luxury to try a double shot espresso. Once outside the cafe, I saw many elegantly dressed ladies waiting for their daily gossip sessions. Past them, I moved to my car. Earlier that day just up from my bedroom in Eastern pub my plan was to visit the library located near the station, but heavy rain followed by lack of parking places in the vicinity of the library really changed my mind.
Driving to the Mt Warrenheip was very different in its own way, I was thrilled to know during my drives through this region that they had a volcanic mountain located right off the city. It is like one of the hidden treasures of this journey, not to mention the really strong pot beer from the pub located below my hotel. I had a shot yesterday and yes they where real therapy to my mind.
Once again driving to Dunnstown, the road is pretty good but not many cars on the way to Warrenheip. Like many natural reserves in Victoria people just never know they have this beautiful places in their state. But they visit other countries and nations while they have such god gifted floral reserves in their footstep.
But the main surprise was yet to come as I reached near the slopes of Mt Warrenheip I saw a massive medieval castle, just out of nowhere. It was a really beautiful view. On the further search in my google app it came to my notice this was Kryal castle. Which is an entirely different journey to take in the next few days I am going to stay in Ballarat.
Once this mountain was covered with trees which had left in resemblance to ems feathers so this place gets its name from the Wathaurong word Warrengeep, meaning "emu's feathers".
